Getting Started with IK Prayer Requests
This guide walks you through installing, activating, and configuring IK Prayer Requests on your WordPress site.
1. Installation
- After purchase, download the plugin zip file from your order confirmation email or your account page
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin
- Select the downloaded zip file and click Install Now
- Click Activate Plugin
2. License Activation
- Go to Prayer Requests > License in your WordPress admin
- Enter your license key (included in your order confirmation email)
- Click Activate License
- Once activated, you will receive automatic updates directly from your WordPress dashboard
3. Creating Pages
Create the following pages and add the shortcodes or Gutenberg blocks:

| Prayer Wall | [[ik_prayer_list]] | Public display of approved requests |
| Intercessor Registration | [[ik_prayer_intercessor_register]] | Prayer team members sign up for notifications |
Gutenberg users: Search for “Prayer” in the block inserter to find the native blocks instead of shortcodes.
Elementor users: Search for “Prayer” in the Elementor widget panel to find the native widgets.
4. Basic Configuration
Go to Prayer Requests > Settings to configure:
- Categories: Create prayer categories (Health, Family, Financial, etc.)
- Email Notifications: Set admin email, customize notification templates
- Moderation: Choose auto-approve or manual moderation
- Privacy: Enable/disable anonymous submissions, configure consent checkbox
- Appearance: Customize colors, button styles, and layout
- Spam Protection: Enable Cloudflare Turnstile or reCAPTCHA
- Daily Reports: Configure automated daily summary emails
5. Managing Prayer Requests
Go to Prayer Requests in the admin sidebar to:
- View all submitted requests with status filters (pending, approved, responded)
- Approve or reject requests
- Write admin responses (visible to the person who submitted)
- Edit request content or category
- Export all requests to CSV
- Manage intercessors (view, remove, send notifications)
